Get to know Toqio with Daniella Rhodes Lorenzo

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I've always been driven to technology and computers since I was very little. However, my academic journey wasn't without its challenges. University life demanded a level of dedication and hard work I hadn't experienced before, and programming didn't immediately capture my interest.

It was during my master's internship at Berea that my perspective shifted. I learned more in a month at work than in five years at university. Applying my academic knowledge to real-world problems ignited my passion for programming and problem-solving, leading me to a successful career in technology management. My analytical mindset and problem-solving skills propelled me into management roles, where I excel in planning strategies and working with diverse teams to build top-tier products.

What drew you to Toqio?

My journey at Toqio began with an intriguing opportunity. Eduardo Martínez and Mike Galvin were part of a previous company that offered integrated payroll, accounting, and other services to SMEs. They decided to start a new project and asked me to join. This new venture, initially focused on blockchain projects, gradually evolved into Toqio, a leading fintech platform.

The transition from our initial project to Toqio involved creating our first solution, which included accounts and payments with just a small team. We soon started to build a new team with people we'd already worked with before. This close-knit team dynamic played a crucial role in the successful launch and growth of Toqio.

What makes Toqio special?

The people are what makes us special. Despite having team members spread across different parts of the world, we operate as a close-knit group. This unity and bond are essential, especially during challenging times, fostering a supportive and resilient work environment.

I believe that the strong sense of community within Toqio contributes significantly to employee retention and overall success. Our strong team culture, combined with our innovative solutions, positions us as a leader in the industry.

What are you most excited about for the future?

There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes that get me excited. While market-visible approaches are important, technical improvements and innovations behind the scenes truly drive my passion.

One of our main focusses right now is making our technology much better, always with an amazing team with huge talent. These technical advancements are crucial for maintaining Toqio's competitive edge and delivering top-notch solutions to our customers.
